Galatians 6:2 (Week 1)

I have these people in my life. Some are dear, dear friends I talk to regularly. Some have been mentors at one time or another. Others are friends I talk to only sporadically.

They are people I can go to when I have a deep need. When there's something bigger than me. When I'm too exhausted to go it alone.

They are my prayer warriors.

Surely you have them, too. The people you can send out a prayer request too, and know that without a shadow of a doubt, they take your request seriously and are on their face before God on your behalf.

They are the ones who say they will pray, and you just know that you know that you know that they do.

"Help carry each other's burdens.
In this way you will follow Christ's teachings."
(Galatians 6:2)

They are the Galatians 6:2 people. And I want to be a Galatians 6:2 person, too.

I've decided to dedicate Mondays to being my Galatians 6:2 day; Each week I'll post prayer requests that have recently been brought to my attention, but I'd also like to know what specific things you need prayer for. I am committing to pray for each one of them throughout the week.

Want to join me? There are a few ways you can participate:

1) Leave a prayer request. Simply leave a comment with your request; you can leave your name or leave it anonymous. Just please don't use any real names if your request is for someone else (you can use pretend names or first initials). I also want to be sure to celebrate the answers to prayer, so as God answers your prayers, please comment to let me know that as well!

2) Commit to praying. If you don't have a request, then will you join me in committing to pray for the requests that appear each week? Leave a prayer in the comments for any one specific prayer, a general one, or for anything God prompts you to pray.

3) Enlarge your borders. I'd love to have you join me in this weekly endeavor by dedicating Mondays to prayer on your site, too. Grab the button and make Mondays a prayerful start to your week. Link up below and let's blow up the internet with prayer and praise reports.

A pastor once told me that God will always move and work, with or without our prayers. But our intercession in prayer is a way of tapping into what God is already doing to become a part of it. I love that visual imagery. Let's begin tapping into the work of the Lord on each others' behalf, and become mighty prayer warriors.

:) Such a good idea...you are right there are those you know that will take that request before the Lord and you just know it. I would love to join you on Mondays Monica! Tomorrow you can pray for me to be able to have some clarity in decisions I need to make. Barbie

I agree. I am always thankful for those friends you know will truly pray and then continue to check in on you.

I would love to join you on Mondays.

Please continue to pray for Scott and I as we try to start a family. Pray that I trust God's timing and don't get discouraged.

Not only are you just suppose to pray for others, it brings you closer to God. It gives me such a feeling of peace knowing I have those who will pray for me, but it is also such a good feeling to look past ourselves. That has to make God smile! I think this is a great idea.
