Galatians 6:2 (Week 3)

Before we begin, let me apologize for the tardiness in getting this normal Monday post up. I do have a good reason...I was without a computer until late last night. Yes, I could have posted then...but I wanted this post to be reasonably coherent (not that it will any better now...I've only had one cup of coffee!).

It seems this is also the post of ellipses.

I've mentioned once or a hundred times how this is an extremely busy time for me right now...not complaining, but it's way busier than usual. I'm trying to not be overcome with overwhelmingness (is that a word?), but at times have succumbed to the lure of the pout. This morning, I received the following devotional Word and let out a deep breath and said, "thank you, Lord." Maybe this will help you today as well:

"Make time for Me in your busy schedule. Your ability to stay connected spiritually will produce peace and good fruit in the face of overwhelming circumstances. Remember that you don't have to accomplish enormous challenges all at once; you are well able to do once thing at a time...moment by moment and still succeed. Refuse to allow stress and pressure to steal your peace and joy, says the Lord."
"LORD, you will establish peace for us, for you have also done all our works in us." (Isaiah 26:12)

I don't know about you...but I. needed. that.

Again with the ellipses.

Now enough about me. Don't you love how I dedicate Mondays to praying for other people, yet lead off with my own ridiculocity? Me too.

"Help carry each other's burdens. In this way you will follow Christ's teachings." (Galatians 6:2)

It's been really exciting to watch how things unfold after making the requests known each week. Last Monday, I had posted about a situation for C, and not two hours later I got an update from a family member that indicated she's reaching out. Praise God! When you tap into the work of God through prayer, you become part of the story. And when the praises and answers come, it's personal to you.

This week, let's continue to pray for last week's requests as well as a few others:

1) S as she is trying to get pregnant, and trust God for His will
2) J is hearing from God regarding a family situation and trusting His direction. Continue to pray for peace, wisdom and direction for J
3) C is struggling with addiction and is at risk of losing her children - pray for a Damascus Road experience for her and complete healing and recovery
3) Focus, direction and wisdom for decisions B has to make
4) M's perspective is continuing to change regarding a work situation, pray her emotions don't overshadow reality
5) That L would begin to really understand and embrace how much God loves her; that her security would be found in Christ alone
6) M has begun fertility treatments in hopes of conceiving soon and quickly
7) M, who is 39, is having open-heart surgery next week to put in a pig valve. This is to replace the valve that was placed when he was 5. Pray for the surgeons, and that his body will be responsive
8) M's mom is looking for a new job, and needs to find one quickly
9) M needs courage to draw the appropriate boundaries in a relationship, or let a particular one go if that's required

Let's not forget to celebrate a few praises from last week!

1) J has been waiting on the Lord regarding the family situation...and as difficult as that is (J is a self-proclaimed control freak), He is leading and J is responding as He leads only
2) L made a big decision to let go of a bad relationship, and is choosing to believe God's plan for her life even though it's difficult
3) M's perspective is changing regarding work -- emotions aren't as much in control as they once were

Do you have something our little community can pray for? Please click where it says "comments" below and let us know your request. If your request is for another person, please use first initials for privacy (unless they have specifically told you it's okay). We also want to celebrate answers to prayer, so please post a comment updating us on God's answers as they come.

If you don't have a request but want to participate, then will you join me in committing to pray for the requests that appear each week? Leave a prayer in the comments for any one specific request, leave a general prayer or anything else God prompts you to pray.

You can also link up and dedicate Mondays to prayer on your site, too. Grab the button and make Mondays a prayerful and purposeful start to your week. Link up below and let's blow up the internet with prayer and praise reports.

Thank you for your dedication to opening your heart to others. God will speak to you as you pray for them...and you'll experience radical transformation in the process. Of that I'm sure.

Don't you just love God's timing. Today's scripture was so relevant and I think can deliver peace to all of us. Thank you for sharing that.
I get overwhelmed reading this list every week, seeing my name, and knowing this great community is praying. Thank you so much. No answers yet but I remain hopeful.
This week, pray for my friend Jason's mom. She has a terrible infection in her intestine/bowel area and has been very sick. She needs healing.
