Here's what enlarged my heart with gratitude this week:
1. Actually enjoying 1) a breakfast and 2) a hot cup of coffee to drink with it.
3. A wonderful start to summer. Which you can read about here.
4. Golf. Jaana started her first golf lesson this week and according to her instructor we should pull her out of school at focus on golf 100% (or something like that, I can't be sure.) She's a natural, I tell you. And she really enjoyed it. Paxton loved her first lesson, too, and playing with the "goff bawwwlllll."
5. Heat. If you know me at all, you know I'm a cold-weather girl. HOWEVER, I will go on record to say that it's much, much more fun to swim at the pool when it's scorching outside.
In case you were wondering, I do happen to have the ideal weather schedule, should God be looking for ideas for where I'll live in heaven:
SPRING (March 1 - May 31)
Temperatures gradually increasing from 60-70
Sunny days, but fluffy white clouds continually floating through the sky
SUMMER (June 1 - Labor Day)
Temperatures gradually increasing from 70-85
Sunny days, minimal clouds; an occasional rainy day to watch movies and shop
FALL (Labor Day - Nov 30)
Temperatures gradually falling from 65-50
Crisp breezes, colorful foliage; cloud coverage varying between none with bright blue sky...and total gray
WINTER (Dec 1 - Feb 28)
Temperatures gradually falling from 50-30
Lots of snow; sometimes cloudy, sometimes sunny
6. Not as much heat as Atlanta. As hot as this past week was, I kept thinking about how grateful I was we don't live in Atlanta anymore where it's muggier and hotter. June is too early in summer to have high-90s and 100% humidity (see above).
7. Super glue. Part of my flip-flop came undone and I couldn't get it to fit back together and stay. Instead of tossing them out brokenheartedly, I tore open my super glue and fixed the problem in an instant. And then I put some on my hard hat and hung from a piece of scaffolding. The stuff is amazing.
8. Dancing Queen. And I mean the song, not just me. Jaana, Paxton & I had a dance party the other night and danced to this song forever. I had motions and Jaana copied them. And as I danced with Paxton in my arms I sang, "young and sweet, only 17," I'd immediately add, "months old" in a not-so-much-a-rapper kind of way. He loved it. I loved it. Jaana loved it. We all gave the party two enthusiastic thumbs up.
9. Annie's Surgery. Okay, I'm not really thankful for her surgery itself, but am thankful for what the surgery has done for me (because it's all about me, you know): I can call her anytime and she'll answer. 'Cuz what else is she gonna do? She's at home recovering, can't do a thing and is totally bored. Oh and yes I'm glad she won't be in pain anymore....yada yada yada.
(I kid, obviously you know this, si?)
10. Acceptance. I bought this cute dress recently that I LOVE, but hadn't worn it yet because it was still just a tad clingy on my main problem area. I bought it hoping that at some point that area would fix itself immediately ('cuz that happens, you know, without even working out). But this patient doesn't healeth thyself-ith well-ith. I put it on and took it off a million times before a function the other day, and then just put it on and decided, "You know what? This is my problem area. It always has been, it always will be. I can either hide behind clothes that are too big to try to camouflage it, or I can accept it, put on the stinkin' dress and move. on." I chose the latter, which startled even myself. And I'm sure everyone at the event thought it looked ridiculous. But I'm just done being obsessed with this thing I can't fix. I'm embracing it and moving on. Life's too short to wear not-cute dresses. Dontcha know?
Your turn. Let me know what you're thankful for this week. Leave a comment or link up with Candra and let's celebrate the good in each other's life. It just might help you elevate your ideas.

great list. #10 is the best. congrats!
I agree with Katie. Way to embrace #10. Just do it. Life is too short to stress out about it.
Super cool about Jaana and golf. I had no idea.
I too LOVE super glue. It works wonder. I am also a big fan of the glue gun. It is a teachers' friend.
When I come visit, I hope we can play with the feet people. Too cute!
I am thankful that one week of my summer camp is over. It is good money but I am totally exhausted.
A to the men sista. Rock that body. We all have an area we stare at more than anyone else. I HATE my arms, and charles, he loves them. Go figure.
Love you
